Following a two-month pilot project Nstein Technologies sells its first NmediaServer user license

Montreal, April 2, 2001 – The President and Chief Executive Officer of nStein Technologies Inc. “nStein” (Mtl: EIN), Mario Girard, today announced the sale of the nMediaServer software user license to CEDROM-SNi. The sales contract constitutes nStein’s first for its nMediaServer.

The transaction between nStein and CEDROM-SNi is worth approximately $220,000. As nStein’s first customer, CEDROM-SNi received a discount of some 20% off the price of the nMediaServer user license (included in the $220,000). The cost of the license varies according to the functionalities selected by the customer.

The announcement follows the partnership agreement signed in January between nStein and CEDROM-SNi, which allowed CEDROM-SNi to test the nMedia Server and evaluate its potential. Just two months later, CEDROM-SNi decided to acquire a user license for the product.

“The test period allowed us to evaluate the overall potential of the nMediaServer,” stated François Aird, President of CEDROM- SNi. “Given the volume and complexity of the work we expected nStein’s product to handle, our experts truly put all aspects of the software to the test. The fact that we are announcing our purchase of the user license today demonstrates the extent to which we have confidence in this product.”

CEDROM-SNi, Canada’s largest news aggregator, classifies, indexes and transfers to its databases more than 4,500 articles per day in English and French. The nMediaServer has allowed the company to significantly accelerate indexation, improve the precision of database processing and greatly enhance the quality of its archiving.

“We are extremely pleased to have signed this first sales contract with CEDROM-SNi,” said Mr. Girard, President and CEO of nStein. “The sale constitutes a key strategic step in nStein’s development. In stating its confidence and satisfaction with the nMediaServer, CEDROM-SNi has confirmed the quality and value of our technology. There’s no question that the agreement will facilitate our current and future sales efforts.”

The nMediaServer: an application of unparalleled efficiency and precision

With the solutions offered by nStein, it is now possible to intelligently and rapidly process this information flow with extreme precision.
