IBM and Nstein's business relationship moves forward with first deal for market intelligence application analyzing blogs, news feeds and forums

Montreal, Quebec, August 29, 2006 - Nstein Technologies Inc., ("Nstein") (TSX-V: EIN), a leader in text mining and multilingual information access solutions, today announced the signing of a contract with Marketingworks, Inc. ("MWKS"), a Los Angeles-based online marketing firm specializing in word-of-mouth communications. The contract includes several UIMA1-compliant text analytics annotators designed by Nstein for market intelligence, customer intelligence and early warning applications for the IBM OmniFind information access platform. As an IBM Reseller and Advanced Business Partner, Nstein also supplies the IBM WebSphere Information Integrator OmniFind Edition license and services associated with the solution deployment.

The proliferation of blogs, news feeds, consumer forums, newsgroups and articles published on the Web has created a phenomenon where information and opinions about an organization spreads worldwide, faster than ever before. Advanced text mining enables the automated analysis of these sources filled with insight from consumers, experts and competitors that can be used by businesses to make better decisions on products, services and business strategies.

"We can already measure the appeal of automated sentiment analysis in the market, particularly in applications related to market intelligence, customer intelligence and early warning," said Mario Girard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nstein Technologies. Nstein is the first text mining company to integrate advanced text mining and sentiment analysis software into the content and information discovery platform developed by IBM. "MWKS will be uniquely equipped to provide its customers with the most powerful analysis and measurement tools applied to word-of-mouth marketing, reputation management, trend-spotting, competitive analysis, consumer-generated-media evaluation and public image monitoring."

"With the growth of investments in word-of-mouth marketing by organizations from all industries, it is becoming essential to use state-of-the-art tools to provide actionable business intelligence as well as measure the impact of Internet-based word-of-mouth campaigns," added Chas Salmore, CEO of Marketingworks. "With the combination of Nstein and IBM software, MWKS will be at the forefront of firms providing professional services in word-of-mouth marketing. MWKS will now offer the industry's most advanced objective measurement techniques and tools."
