2002-01-23

Mr. Marcinko brings a solid network and deep industry knowledge to Nstein

Montreal (Quebec), January 23, 2002 - The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nstein Technologies, Inc. "Nstein" (TSX: EIN), Mario Girard, is proud to announce the appointment of Randall Marcinko to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Marcinko brings to the position over 20 years of experience and a solid track record of success within the content management, e-publishing and online industries.

"Nstein's goal is straightforward for 2002 and beyond: to be the leader in providing the highest quality Computer-Aided Indexing (CAI) solutions to the e-publishing space," explains Mario Girard. "With Randy Marcinko as our President and COO, I am convinced that Nstein will realize this aggressive yet attainable goal. Randy has an unparalleled understanding of the needs and challenges of the e-publishing community " from enterprises who market and sell electronic information to organizations that struggle to manage their information resources effectively. His track record of having successfully founded and built US and Canadian based information technology companies clearly demonstrate that he is uniquely qualified for the position."

Mr. Marcinko says, "Automated indexing and categorization software solutions such as Nstein's are poised to re-energize the $US 100 billion e-publishing industry. Nstein's software enables e-publishers to reduce their costs while creating significant new revenue opportunities. Further, industry experts estimate that US enterprises spend billions of dollars in their quest to find the right information, another area ripe for Nstein's technology." Mr. Marcinko adds, "Nstein's strong management team, focussed business strategy and technology advantage, coupled with the excitement of a burgeoning market need for CAI solutions, have drawn me to this challenge."

In 1980, Randall Marcinko founded US-based Dynamic Information Corp., a full service information brokerage firm. He forged a solid network of successful business relationships with e-publishers such as Reed Elsevier, Dialog and IEEE. Mr. Marcinko sold Dynamic to EBSCO in 1994, and was retained to create their document delivery division, EBSCOdoc. He has since founded other highly successful information technology companies including Information Canada Ltd., and most recently, MEI - an e-publishing services firm that designs and builds platforms for the retrieval and delivery of third party content.

"I became acquainted with Nstein while conducting a global evaluation of competing CAI software vendors for a large US corporation. Nstein was the clear winner, proving to have the most advanced content management indexing software. Indexing is the most critical component in powering a highly effective search experience. This being the case, there is also a tremendous opportunity for the company to apply its technology advantage in the portal and corporate intranet spaces. Nstein's technology advantage and dedication to a customer-driven philosophy, will contribute toward the company achieving its financial goals in 2002."

Mr. Marcinko assumes his role as President and COO immediately.
