Montreal firm signs major contract with APA,
the world's largest psychological association

Montreal, September 5, 2001 - Nstein Technologies Inc. "Nstein" (Mtl: EIN), a Montreal-based developer of innovative linguistic intelligence business solutions, announced the sale of its Nmedia Server(TM) user license to the American Psychological Association (APA), the world's largest psychological association. The deal is worth approximately CDN $450,000.

This is Nstein's second large-scale contract in the US within a week. On August 28th, 2001, Nstein inked a 5-year, CDN $1.2 million contract with news giant United Press International (UPI).

"To maintain our position as the world's premier psychology resource, we needed to secure a proven technology that would help us automate the tagging, abstracting and indexing of our data in the most objective, accurate and efficient way," stated APA's Senior Director for the PsycINFO database, Linda Beebe. "Computer-Aided Indexing (CAI) is a 'must have' for us. Our challenge is to maintain the accuracy of our indexing while automating. Nstein's CAI technology does that better than any other solution we looked at - and it reduces the time needed to perform these tasks by more than 30 percent."

"APA is a prestigious customer for us and really builds on our credibility and momentum in the U.S. market," explained Mario Girard, President and CEO of Nstein, "APA's databases are recognized for their high standards of indexing and abstracting. Their in-depth benchmarking of CAI solutions led them to the conclusion that only Nmedia Server could provide the combination of accuracy and performance needed to maintain the quality of their offering. That obviously speaks volumes about the strength of the solutions we provide. "
