Nstein Technologies (TSX-V: EIN) develops and markets leading-edge content management software solutions, digital assets management, picture management and text mining solutions for the media and publishing industry. The head office is based in Montreal, Canada, with offices in the United States, London, Toulouse and Paris. For additional information, visit: www.nstein.com.
Picdar, an Nstein company, develops and implements its publishing workflow and content management solutions for an exciting range of customers including most national newspapers, leading magazines, travel companies and other large and small businesses. Some of these systems are enterprise-scale, handling huge numbers of assets many users, many asset formats and with sophisticated security and classification requirements. All of this presents interesting challenges for our development team.
Our software is developed at our St Albans base by a development team of around 16 software engineers, most of whom have joined Picdar on graduating from top universities with a 1st or 2:1 in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related degree.
We use a variety of technologies and languages. Most development is in Java for J2EE products with C++ used for other environments, particularly for Mac and PC client development and for integration with Adobe Creative Suite and Quark. Our solutions involve manipulating images and other complex files, so some of the work we do involves asset transformations, which requires some team members to have a computational or mathematical background. We work with third party databases and search engines including (but not limited to) Oracle, Sequel Server, Lucene and Autonomy across a number of server platforms.
We are looking for four (4) recent graduates seeking challenges with an enthusiastic professional attitude and a passion for the information technology industry.
Successful candidates will need to have:
The nature of our customers and the size of their systems means we need to provide software solutions that are robust, simple to use and highly innovative. In order to ensure we stay ahead of the game in this exciting business, we recruit only the brightest Computer Science/Software Engineering graduates. Additionally, Picdar provides continuous training programs to its employees.
The working environment is informal and friendly, but at the same time professional. You can expect to find the work interesting and challenging, and to develop new skills. We are large enough for you to enjoy a variety of work and develop your technical and leadership skills, but small enough to regard each person as an individual, and to allow you to develop your career pattern.
