POSITION
We are currently looking for a Web designer to work in a dedicated startup-like group for a very promising new product within the organization. In that role, the candidate will work on front-facing value added applications supporting large international newspapers and magazine brands. The candidate will evolve in a multidisciplinary team of highly specialized, talented and dedicated professionals working on a cutting-edge platform powered by semantic technologies.
- Develop white label templates for front-facing applications
- Deliver client-specific branded themes within the software template engine
- Serve as the UI/UX reference within the product team
- Support client deliveries with UI/UX guidance when necessary
CANDIDATE
The candidate is dedicated to remaining up-to-date with Web design, integration and technology trends. He is comfortable working within a rapidly evolving and disruptive environment where delivering the best quality is of the most importance. The candidate can be self-taught and must have a hunger for knowledge. Essentials
- Cross-platform and backward-compatible hand-coded XHTML/CSS
- Hands-on with popular AJAX libraries and techniques
- Natural talent for modern Web ergonomics
- Information Architecture techniques and trends
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or equivalent
- Experience with theme development for template-driven CMSs such as WordPress or Drupal
- Online portfolio and/or demos Assets
- Microformats and RDFa
- Working knowledge of Adobe Flash
- Agency experience
- Understanding of RESTful interfaces
